Hello readers and visitors. ;D

My first makeup tutorial ever. I am apologizing in advance for some flaws you will be seeing in my tutorial. I am not a professional makeup artist nor a makeup student so please bare with me. This is a simple look. I hope you’ll like this. ;D

For this look, I will be using the G-Lish Colour Pot in Mystique. You can use similar shades containing this pan.

Before putting any makeup, make sure to apply moisturizer. After doing so, apply your favorite foundation, conceal your flaws and pat a setting powder on your face. Sorry for the undone eyebrows. Hehe.

  • Click the images for a larger view.
  1. Put an eye shadow primer.
  2. Apply the pale pink shade, which serves as the base color, all over the lids.
  3. Put the pale violet shade over the pale pink shade for some sort of lavender shade.

3.  Take the berry shade and gently pat it on half of the lid to the outer thirds. Then, extend it up to the crease.  Use a pencil shaped makeup brush for contouring. Blend the shadow in the crease with an angled eye makeup brush.

4. Then apply the dark  plumy eggplant shade and pat it on the outer thirds up to the crease. Then blend the shades with an angled eye makeup brush.

5. Use the pale pink eye shadow as an eyeliner for the water line.

6. Take the berry shade again and smudge a little under you waterline. I used a flat eyeliner brush to do thid.

7. Use the sheer white shade to highlight the brow bones and put some at inner corners of your eyes.

8. Then apply a black eyeliner on the upper lash line. I used a powder liner so it’s not vivid. You always have the options for eyeliners.

9. Finally, apply a mascara, put some blush on and lipstick. I used a sheer pinky peach blush and coral lipstick and topped it with a nude lipgloss.

Here is the finished look…

Products I used for this look…

Face – The Face Shop Arsainte Eco Therapy Ice Line Super Gel, Ever Bilena Pro Flawless Finish Foundation in Gold, Oraganic Wear Pressed Powder in Translucent Light, Elf  Face Stick, Nichido Final Powder in So Natural, Elf Studio Golden Bronzer and Elf Studio Contour and Blushing Compact

Eyes – Elf Eyelid Primer,  G-Lish Colour Pot in Mystiques, Revlon Shadow/Liner in Naturally Glamorous and Clinique Doubling Effect Mascara

Lips – Revlon Lustrous Lipstick in Rosedew and Revlon Lustrous Lip gloss in Nude Lustre.

  • Most of these products were bought before I decided to go cruelty-free and use organic products only. I use them so I won’t have to waste them. I hope you understand.
Please excuse my messy hair and oily face. I was in a hurry to this and it was really hot when I shot these photos. If you have any suggestion for improvement, hit the comment box. Opinions and suggestion are always welcome.
I hope you liked the look. If you tried this look, please post a picture on MG’s Fan Page, click here.

Simple Cami – Party and Casual – Summer Outfits

Hello everyone. I’m so sorry for being inactive these past few months. I was busy with school since I was a graduating student. I graduated last March 31. Yay. I have now my B.S. Psychology degree. As of now, I don’t have a work yet. I’m still on Summer vacation. Hehehe. I will have the giveaway really soon. Promise.

Today, I will be posting on how to wear a simple cami on a party and for casual days. It’s actually for summer. If you are wondering, it’s summer here in the Philippines. I made my cousin Imred as my model since she has a sexy body. I picked up the clothes my self including the accessories and made her makeup and hair.

For the first outfit, the party get-up, Imred wore a brown sheer cami and tucked it in a floral skirt. Her shoes was a beige  peep toe heels in a faux fish skin. Her hair wast just simply pinned back.

The Brown Cami is from Bebe, Floral Skirt from Seventeen and Beige Shoes from M.O.Y..

For the accessories, I just picked a dangling red pearl earrings with faux diamonds and a set of bangles with faux pearls. I bought the earrings from Pink Box and the bangles were from China. My mom gave the bangles to me.

Imred used the same cami for the casual outfit. For this outfit, she wore a vintage faded denim skirt and a beige ballerina flats. A simple hairdo again.

The skirt was from Imred’s mom, the shoes was from her sister, the necklace with flower crochet was from Papemelroti, the hoop spiral earrings from Robinson’s Department Store, hair bow from SM Department Store and the bracelet was bought from Ingmar.

More pictures…. My cousin really likes to pose. She dreams of being a ramp model. I hope you enjoy these…

So, that’s all. Do you like the outfits? Do you have any suggestions for improvement? Do you want more of these? Please tell me on the comments area.

I would like to thank my pretty cousin for allowing me to do this to her. I will post her twitter down below. I hope you enjoyed this post. Have a nice day. Bye. ;D

Accessories Collective Haul and Others <3

Hello there! I am apologizing for the lack of posts. I am currently busy with school as I have told you for the millionth time. I am focusing on my requirements lately but I found a time today to post. By the way, my graduation is on March 31, 2012. I am really excited! Finally, no more school. Hehehe. After the graduation, my family and I we’ll be having two-week vacation on Ilocos. Another excitement! Anyways, going back to the topic of this post, I will be showing you some fashion items that I bought with my Christmas money. They are really cute and super affordable. I bought these somewhere here in Iloilo. I don’t to make this post long so here are now the items..

Oh My Goodness! I almost freaked out when I saw this at the store. I wanted to have a feather extension for such a long time. Finally, I got one. This is around P28. 🙂

I used to “not attracted to animal accessories’ but now I am extremely attracted. This vintage long necklace caught my eyes when I saw. I was surprised with the price. The turquoise gem is gorgeous. I’m not sure but I believe this is around 50-70 Pesos.

Owls are so in right now so I got myself an owl ring. It’s like a mother owl with her babies. They look so adorable together. If I remember correctly, this one costs P23. So cheap, right? 😉

Another feather accessory. I am so obsessed with feather stuffs right now. This is P15.

A cute bow earrings. I think they are an imitation of a Juicy Couture earring. I don’t remember the price of this one but I think this one is around P15 too.

The last thing that I bought from the shop was this hair pin with flowers, pearls and studs. Aren’t they adorable? I’m not a pear person but I do these pins. But, because of low quality, the paraphernalia can be removed easily. Each pair of this is P10.

So those are the things that I got from that store. I will name it yet since I will buy some prizes their for the upcoming giveaway. The next products I will be showing came from SM. They had a sale for accessories so I grabbed a few. It saw a fantastic deal and my total purchase was under P100.

The first thing that I got from the mall was this choker-like-must-be-tied up necklace. Forgive me guys, I don’t what this is called. Hehe. A lot of females wear it especially local celebrities so I decided to give it a try. I was surprised when I saw the price. Guess how much was this?…ummm.. P25. Yes, P25! What a deal, right?

The last fashion things I got from the were these bow hair ties. They were on the kids section but I seriously don’t care. They are really cute. The white one was under P30 and blue one was under P40.

The last thing that I got from the mall was this Organica Story Exfoliating Body Polish. I was running out of my exfoliator so I went ahead and look for a new replacement. I saw this at Watson’s and grabbed it for the reasons that it’s certified organic and was not tested on animals. It got this last year for P139. Now, it’s only P99. 😉

So, that was some of the products I bought with my Christmas money. I don’t want to write a lengthy post so I just shown you the fashion items I got. I hope you enjoyed this post. I am not bragging in any way or form. I was not paid to show these products. I’m thinking of posting a tag, maybe Products I’ve Hit Pan On? What do you think guys? Hit the comment box to respond. I will post more when I have time.

Have a nice day everyone. Bye! 🙂

How Do I Hang My Scarves + Important Announcement (Giveaway)

Hello everyone! How was your Christmas? Was it fun? Mine was okay. As promised, I will post about how do I hang my scarves. The wind is chilly currently here in the Philippines. We don’t have a winter but we are currently experiencing cold weather most of the days. I don’t wear scarves often because people usually will stare at me as if they are saying “what the hell are you wearing?”.  People in our country normally do not wear scarves during cold days. But, that’s not the point of this post. Hehe. Actually, this is not really a tutorial, it’s more of a tip. A really nice technique  to hang your scarves. This technique make your scarves really cute to look at while hanging. This is how I hang my scarves..

Surprisingly, it is really really really really easy. I just did simple knots. I think they save a lot space and they look cute. This is much more convenient than just hanging them the usual way. The usual way make your scarves look bulky and at time unorganized.  🙂 What do you think guys?

Mistaken Glance is now one year old. Yay! As a thank you, I am planning to have a giveaway during summer which will start on April. I know it’s late but I’m still saving for the giveaway. I am a graduating college student and I don’t have a work (i’m not allowed to) so it’s a little bit hard to have an immediate giveaway. I wanna give you guys something but I need your help. At the bottom of this post, there’s a poll where you can vote for the products you want to be as prizes for my giveaway. In that way, I know what to give to you. The casting of votes will end on March 31. The choice with highest number of votes will be chosen as the giveaway prizes. This is my upcoming first giveaway and I’m really sorry to limit my giveaway to Philippine residents only. Don’t worry guys, someday if I already have work I could have an international giveaway. 🙂

Belated Merry Christmas and Advance Happy New Year to each and everyone of you!  Happy Holidays!

Have a nice day everyone. Bye!. 🙂

November 2011 Favorites + Small Haul

Hello there! I am apologizing for not posting this past month. As I have said before, I am busy with school and practicum. Today, I got the chance to post a blog so here I am.

Today, I will be posting about my November Favorites. There some products which I will not be including because they were mentioned in my August Favorites. I don’t want to be repetitive as much as possible. Click here to see the blog post. These products are still my favorites.

I will not be saying much about the products that I will be showing you since I don’t want to tire you with a long post. If you want a in-depth review with a certain product, please comment below. I will be starting with skincare.

1. Hortaleza, M.D. Acnesol Pimple Control 60mL

This is amazing for drying out pimples. It’s a life saver! Love it so much! This is actually my second bottle. I recommend this to everyone.

2. Revlon CustomeEyes Shadow & Liner (Naturally Glamorous)

This palette is great for everyday. It’s a like a mini dupe for the Naked Palette. The shadows are blendable and easy to work with. I checked the ingredients and I found out that this product is safe. It does not contain parabens.

3. elf   Studio Blush (Tickled Pink)

This blush is really sheer and I think that it won’t show up on medium to dark skin tones. I do like it because it gives a healthy natural pinkish glow. It’s not pigmented and it has micro glitters.

4. wet n wild ColorIcon Eyeshadow Single (Nutty)

This is one of the best eye shadows I own and I think it’s really unique. This is the only taupe eyeshadow I own but I am in love with it. This can be worn all-over the lid or just on the crease. I absolutely recommend this shadow!

5. Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick (Rosedew)

I am really sorry for the bad lighting. This not a dark-colored lipstick. It’s more of a pink-coral-mango shade with gold glitters in a pearlish-frosted finish. It’s good for work. I recommend it.

6. Shirley May Love More Eau de Toilette Spray

OMG. This fragrance smells so good! It’s a mixture of citrus scent and sophistication. I cannot describe the scent, please forgive me. It’s something that you would wear on a dinner date.

7. lipice Lip Balm (Grape Blackcurrant)

Ummm.. It’s methol lip balm with a fruity scent. It’s effective for cracked lips. It’s amazing!

Those are my favorites. I hope you try some of them. Yesterday and today I was at Robinson’s mall. Last night, I bought a pair of shoes for my practicum. It’s a cute shoes with cute heels. I got this pair of shoes for Php 699.75 at the Department Store.

Today, I went back to the mall after my duty. While I was searching for a cute pair of earrings, I saw this and immediately fell in love with it. I decided to buys it because it is simply gorgeous and besides, I don’t have this type of earrings and it has blue accent. Blue is one of my favorite colors. I got this for Php 99.

So, that’s all guys. I hope you like the items that I bought. My next post will be about how I hang my scarves. Rating, liking and commenting is deeply appreciated. By the way, you can follow my blog if you have a WordPress account. If you don’t have a WP account, you can still subscribe at this blog through e-mail. There’s a box saying “subscribe” at the sidebar. You will get updated by receiving an e-mail about a my new post.

Live Green & Cruelty-Free

Hello everyone! Welcome to my Mistaken Glance. 🙂 I don’t know if you know that I pledged since April to PETA not to buy products from brands that test on animals. So far, I am doing good. It feels really good to live cruelty-free and I’m not shamed of it. I am so proud of it!  Today, I also pledged to LeapingBunny to only purchase products that do not test on animals. If you want to pledge, click here. Also, I decided to buy organic products as much as possible. I am avoiding products which contains harmful chemicals such as paraben, talc and many others. These products can cause cancer. From now on, I will check the ingredients of the products I intend to purchase before buying them.

A few days ago, I made a page entitled “Living Green & Cruelty Free” which is linked above. I linked some companies that are organic & cruelty-free. I will update the page every three months and I hope that’s okay. If you are interested, just click the page above.

I hope you join us people. If you know site/s like these, feel free to comment below so I can add them to the list.

Thank you for reading this post and for visiting my site. Have a nice day everyone! Bye! 🙂

My Favorite Necklace – Life is Beautiful Drop Necklace by Papemelroti

Hello everyone! Welcome to my blog. 🙂 Today, I will be posting about a certain necklace that I really love. I purchased this last Summer at SM North Edsa and I got addicted to it. I love it because it looks good with most of my outfits. I have worn it so much. It’s from Papemelroti (I’m so glad they have a website). Sadly, they don’t have a shop here in Iloilo so I don’t have access to them right now. I want to literally haul their stuffs because they are all artsy, crafty and super creative!

So, what do you think guys? Do you like it? Well, if you like this, you can buy this online. Isn’t it cool? Here’s the link: http://www.papemelroti.com/beads5.htm. Be sure to check out their other products because they are really awesome. That’s it for now guys. Thank you so much for reading! Have a nice day! Bye! 🙂

Disclamer: The company didn’t pay me to mention their product nor their site. I bought this with my money.
