August 2011 Favorites! Skincare & Hair Products (Part 1)

Hello everyone! My August Favorites is here! Yay! I’m really excited to post this because I have a lot of new products to show you. This time, I’ll skincare products. I’m happy because finally, I can share skincare stuffs. Anyways, I’m gonna start right now. As usual, links will be posted below.

I have been neglecting my skin for a long time and it was really depressing. I had dry and flaky skin and my face had a lot of blemishes. But, since April 2011, I have been investing to a lot of skincare. In fact, most of my purchases are skin care products. And now, I can proudly say that my skin (body & legs) became softer and finer to look at. My boyfriend noticed it. Hehe. As for my face, my skin has less blemishes. It’s not yet clear but I’m working on it. So here are the magical products…

Click the images for a larger view. :-)

St. Ives Mineral Therapy Body Wash

OMG. I was surprised that this brand do not test on animals. Their products do not contain animal ingredients, parabens and phthalates. I was at the Duty Free’s grocery section and was looking for cruelty free skincare items when I accidentally picked  up this item. I was extremely happy when I saw the text at the back saying it’s cruelty free. YAY! I love this product because it does what it says. It made my feel so smooth and soft. My skin became radiant and look healthy. I use this everyday in the morning. What I also love about this product is that you need a tiny amount to get a creamy consistency. It’s really huge so I guess it will last a really long time.  As I said above, my boyfriend noticed the change and he asked what product I have been using. And I told him about this product. This is around $4-5 dollars. Yes, i bought in USD. :-)

The next product is from the same company. I hauled some of their products because of  the “cruelty free and paraben free”. I intended to get the Mineral Therapy Lotion but they have stock so I just got this product. After using the body wash, I use this lotion. My skin feels so soft. This is the best combination ever!

St. Ives Hydrating Vitamin E Lotion

I am anticipating that some of you will ask if what is the difference between Hydrating Vitamin E and Mineral Therapy? As I have read at the description, Mineral Therapy regenerates the cell to cure the dry skin, while the Hydrating Vitamin E provides moisture to the skin as it prepares for future dryness. It contains antioxidants.  Therefore, Mineral Therapy is more of a treatment and the Vitamin E is more of a prevention. Please do keep in mind that this is only interpretation. I might be wrong or right. :-)

The next product is from Zen Zest.

Zen Zest Body Scrub in Raspberry

I use this product as an exfoliator and it works really really great. This stuff does not make your skin feel dry after exfoliating. I use this every week because exfoliating everyday is not healthy for the skin.   After using this, my skin feels so soft and smooth. The smell is just great!  This is an great alternative for The Body Shop Body Scrubs for they are expensive. Plus, it does not test on animals. Yay! But, it contains two kinds of Parabens. Nay! How I wish they would reformulate this because I will be sad if I ran out of this because I pledged to my self not to buy products with Parabens.

The next product is the Marionnaud Face Massager.

This is a must have. I used this everyday for cleansing. It’s not harsh because it has soft bristles. I use this on my face and neck. It’s less that 100 (Php). ;-)

VO5 Moisture Milks Moisturizing Shampoo & Conditioner (Strawberries & Cream)

I am so glad I bought these. They smell so great and makes my hair soft and shiny. The scent lasts all day long. They do not test animals and do not use Parabens. SUPER LOVE THIS PRODUCT! <3

So, these are my Skincare & Hair Products Favorites for August 2011. I hope you try all of them. I will update this post to link all the products. Watch out for the Part 2. I’ll take to you soon. Bye! :-)

Collective Makeup Haul: Summer Vacation & some products I got recently

Hello readers and visitors! I’m back with a haul. My vacation was over 2 weeks ago and the classes started like Monday last week. We start the class June here in the Philippines. Maybe some of you are wondering why is the title “Summer Vacation” when it’s still June? We only have 2 seasons: wet season and dry season. April and May are our summer months.

Going back to the main subject of this blog post, I will just show you the makeup products I bought because I don’t want this post to be so lengthy. Majority of these are eyeshadow (I’m suck a sucker for eyeshadow).  Before I start I just want to say that I didn’t get these things in one day, I spent my own money and I’m not a spoiled brat.

So I will start with the things I got from Manila..

When I got to SM North Edsa, the first counter I would like to visit was the wet N wild’s. I was really excited because we don’t have wNw here in Iloilo. I was browsing the counter and most of the products were 300 pesos and up. I was budgeting my money because I still have to buy other things (I don’t have work because I’m not allowed to and my dad give me monthly allowance). So I went for the single eyeshadow because they’re 199 each. But, I only bought 1. LOL. :D

Swatch in natural light..

Then the next day I went to a Watson’s Drugstore at SM Annex. By the way, I bought the eye shadow above at the Department Store (SM North Edsa) at the main building. I went to the e.l.f. counter because I was eyeing for a certain quad. I was really happy with my purchase. I bought this product for 129 pesos.

e.l.f. Brightening Quad in Teal Dream

I bought this quad because of the blue shadow. Here’s a closer look…

Isn’t that gorgeous? Should I do a tutorial using quad? Let me know by posting a comment below. :-)

Swatches in natural light..

The next product I will show is the product I was looking for so long. Finally, I got one. Guess what it is…

e.l.f. Eyelid Primer in Sheer

Oh my gosh. I finally got one! This is my first primer ever and I absolutely love this! I live in Iloilo and makeup brands are limited in here.

Swatch in natural light..

After a few days, I went to the mall again because my mom played BINGO almost everyday and we went with her. I decided to pick my holy grail eyeshadow. I love this eyeshadow so much and this is my 2nd pan of it.

Nichido Eyeshadow in Gold Foil

Swatch..

Those are the makeup items I got during my summer vacation. I will show you the items I got here in Iloilo. Last last week I went to SM Iloilo City because I watched a movie with my cousin. While waiting for her, I went to the Department Store and went to the e.l.f counter. I picked up a liquid pen liner and an all over cover stick.

e.l.f. All Over Cover Stick in Apricot Beige

This one is really good for yellow skin. It covers up pretty well and it stays on. But for sever dark circles, this won’t cover up. I will pick up a different color for my dark circles soon.

Again, this is perfect for light-fair yellow skin. (If that make sense.. hehe)

So that’s it. I’m really really sorry for not posting lately. I have been very busy. I hope you try the products that I bought. A post is coming up. Bye! Have a nice day ;-)

Simple Nail Art Tutorial feat. Etude House

Hello everyone! I am back with a nail tutorial. It’s actually really simple, like for beginners. I am a beginner myself when it comes to nail art. I’m not good at this and I am so nervous because it’s my first tutorial. Oh, By the way, this is intended for short nails but this can also be done with long nails. It can be modified and anything else.

I used Etude House products because I bought some of their stuffs last last day and I thought of doing a simple nail tutorial. I only got three things from their store and I came up with an idea out of this 3 things. Okay. Let’s start.

You will be needing a base color, nail art stones and a nail art pen.

You can use any products you have similar to these stuffs. They don’t have to be the same products. As for the base color, you can use any color you desire same as for the nail stones and nail pens.

Nail Art Pen (White)

Site Description:

“9ml Pen supplies individualistic nail art expression with convenience.”

I only bought the white one. There are other colors too. Links and prices will be posted below.

Nail Decoration Stone No. 7

I went for the classic silver stones.

Petti Darling Nail BR308

The first time I laid my eye on this, I immediately fell in love with this. I have a lot of nail polish but I don’t have browns. This is so pretty.

Let’s start the tutorial.

  • First, apply your base coat. I used the Caronia Nail Strengthener & Base Coat.

Please excuse my nails. I’m not expert a nail expert. :-) I solely cleaned my nails.

  • Then, apply your base color. Any color would do. I used the brown polish because it’s only one I have right now. I left my polishes at home.

Please excuse the mess. Told ya, I’m not expert. I’ll clean this afterwards. By the way, I doubled the coat because I want my base to be dark. And I’m really sorry for the weird position. :-)

Let the polish dry for about 15-20 minutes. While drying you

  • Using the nail art pen, create a small dot at the center of your nails.

  • Quickly, place a nail art stone on the dots. Press the stone so it would stick on the nail.

My nails were extremely messy.

Grab the nail art pen again and we will be creating a flower/cross. It depends on how you will interpret this tutorial. I created different shapes so I don’t know what to call this tutorial. Hehe.

Look what I have done with my index finger. It’s like a cross.

Let them dry for 10 minutes.

  • Lastly, apply top coat.

Finished! You can definitely modify and beautify this. Mine is really simple. I hope you like it guys. :-)

I am not being paid to show and use these products. I bought these with my own money.

Project Ten Pan 2 – Updates

Hello everyone! Welcome to my little beauty world here on the internet. Today, I will be posting some updates on my project 10 pan. I mentioned in my last post that there will be a part 2 of my haul and that will be up soon. The clothes that I bought are still on the laundry and others were not yet ironed so it will take a few days before I can take pictures of them.

My camera is now available but, it’s not did not cooperate with me. Some of the images are out of focus. I tired taking pictures again and again but they won’t focus. Anyways, you can still see the products. I hope that’s fine with you guys. :-)

So, as I have stated before, I started my PTP January 19, 2011 and until now I’m not done. Also, I had confession on my last post saying that I broke the rules on my PTP. I bought two eyeshadows and 1 corrector. But, I promise that I won’t use the eyeshadows, but not the corrector because I need it for my blemishes and other imperfections.

This coming May, I will be going to Manila for a summer vacation. I want to announce that I will be buying makeup items there that I cannot find here in Iloilo. Products from brands like MAC, Majolica Majorca, Smashbox etc.. Makeup brands are really limited in here.  Also, I will be picking some Revlon items at the Duty Free Philippines because  they are tax free and they have some stuffs that are not sold in SM Department Stores and Watsons. But, I will not use the products that I will be buying until this project if finished. I will finish this project.

Revlon Lipgloss (Pink)

I scrapped what was left so it’s now totally gone. :-)

elf  Waterproof Mascara

Dried out. Yay!

Nichido Eyeshadow in Gold Foil

I took this picture like last last week and this item is completely used up. This is my favorite eyeshadow ever, I use it all the time and now it’s gone. I will buy this again soon.

Maybelline Makeup Remover.

I’m done with this too. Yay! 4 down, 6 to go. Go! Go! Go!

And, as for the other products, here they are..

San San Pink Berry Margarita Lipstick

Look at that. I’m almost done. Yay! I hope I can finish this before it expires. Isn’t it gross to use expired lipstick?

Revlon Age Defying Spa Concealer

I depotted this in a clean jar and as I can see I still have a lot. Maybe like 5-10 uses.

Revlon Lipgloss (Dark Nude)

I still have much left. Maybe 2 more months?

San San Eyeshadow Pencil

I’ll put much effort. :-)

San San Tinted Moisturizer

I depotted this one too and still a lot. Maybe like 10 uses?

Nichido GNU Eyeliner in Nice Gal

This is still long  for a Project 10 Pan. I’ll try to use it up within 2-3 months.

So, these are my updates. Gosh, it takes forever to finish pencil liners. Anyways, please tell me what should I blog. I’m running out of ideas. That’s it for now. Bye!

Collective Haul Part 1 (Beauty Products)

Hello everyone! So, I have a collective haul. Okay. I confess that I bought 2 eye shadows and 1 corrector powder. I broke the rules on PTP. But, before you say anything I wanna say that I finished 2 items from my Project 10 Pan. It was the mascara and makeup remover and my eyeshadow will be done soon. I will be posting an update soon. Anyways, this haul will be divided into two parts since I got a lot of stuff. Mostly nail polish and accessories. The accessories, clothes and others will be posted on a different post. Please be reminded that I didn’t get this in one day. I am not reviewing anythings since this is a long post. I will be doing a separate review post if you want to. ;-)

I bought all of this with my own money. No one paid me to show the products. I am apologizing in advance because my images are not in their best quality. My camera was not available so I used my mom’s phone. My phone’s camera has s horrible quality. Some images were taken from websites and I don’t claim any rights to them. I am crediting those sites.

Last week of March I went to Robinson’s Mall  Iloilo and I decided to buy a mascara since my mascara has dried already. *I only own one mascara. I went to HBC and headed to San San Cosmetics.  I decided to pick the Long Lash Waterproof Mascara.

No image available. I can’t even link the product because it’s not available on their site.

Then I picked up a soap from Body Recipe (still at HBC). Anyways, these brands that I am mentioning are only available at HBC stores. You cannot get them in other stores. Though you can buy them online. Click HBC Home of Beauty Exclusives.

Body Recipe Skin Lightening Body Bar

I bought not because I’m such a vain person that I want to be so fair. I bought this because I have skin pigmentation problem. I don’t have an even skin tone.

Then I went to their nail polish rack and I picked 3 nail polishes from San San. The colors that I picked up are not available in their site.

San San Nail Polish (Regular) in Warm Blue, Sea Green and Blue Sapphire

Then after a few days I went to SM Delgado. I bought some stuffs from Watsons for my personal needs such deodorants, napkins, etc. I am only going to show you the deodorant that I bought.

Nivea Extra Whitening Spray Deodorant

Btw, I’m not imitating Ingrid a.k.a misglamorazzi. I used this since December 2010 and this is my 4th bottle. As she said, this is only available in some Asian countries. This was exported from Thailand.

And then I picked up some nail polish again. They are from Caronia.

Caronia Nail Polish in Crystal (Frosted) and White Satin (Regular)

They look similar but in person they are not. Crystal is a sheer white polish with gold flexes. White Satin is just a regular white polish.

I also picked up an eyebrow trimmer from Nichido Cosmetics. I am really sorry again I forgot to take a picture of  it. Hehe. :-) I also picked up a pointed eyeshadow brush from Marionnaud.

Marionnaud Pointed Brush

This is not the exact name. Hehe. I’ll update this other times. Anyways, they don’t have a website.

I ran out of makeup remover and I used it in my Project 10 Pan so I picked up one. It’s also from Nichido Cosmetics.

Nichido Make-up Remover

I’ll do a review on this. That’s for sure. ;-)

Just this Sunday I went to SM Manduriao. I did shop all by my self.  That was actually really boring. I waited for my cousin there for about 4 hours. I went crazy and bought a lot of stuff. Well some of those are clothes so they will be posted on another post.

So I went first to the Department store and I bought some empty small containers. I planned to visit Mom&Me Perfume Refilling and Cosmetic Station. They sell loose powders, correctors and shadows. They sell their stuffs  per gram and the container has a separate payment. I already knew about it so that’s why I bought the empty containers. I picked up 2 shadows and one corrector.

Shimmer Powder in Sunburst

Forgot the name. Duh, Hena!

Peach Corrector

After eating my snack I went to HBC (again). They have more products than the other branches. So I got lots of skin care stuffs and nail polish.

Hortaleza, M.D. Acnesol Pimple Control Soap

Body Recipe Eye Cream SPF 15

Body Recipe Skin Clarifying Facial Cleanser

This is not available at HBC’s site.

San San Eyeshadow Brush

This is not also available at their site.

Allue Glam Rock Nail Polish in Orange Jive

Allue Nail Polish in Pumpin’ Purple

Allue Glam Rock Nail Polish in Yellow Gig

Finally and lastly, I bought the infamous elf Mechanical Eyelash Curler. This product was on my wishlist and  now I got it. Yay!

elf Mechanical Eyelash Curler

So, those are all of the beauty stuffs I got these past few weeks. I hope I had not missed anything. Part 2 will be uploaded soon. I know this post is really long, I’m sorry for that. I forgot to post the prizes, I’m sorry again. If you have any questions feel free to ask. If you have any request, please put it on the requests’ page linked above. That’s all for now. Have a nice day everyone. Bye! <3

Review: Revlon Age Defying Spa Concealer

Okay. So. Uhhh.. I really don’t know how to start a review. Sorry if  I will be missing some points. Anyways, you can still ask questions in comment’s area or in my Formspring account which linked at the second sidebar.

As I have seen on Revlon’s website, there are actually two kinds of concealer for the Age Defying line. What I will be reviewing today is the regular concealer, not the moisturizing one.

Revlon Age Defying Spa Concealer

“Instantly revitalizes and brightens. Protects against fine lines.

  • Stone Therapy minerals instantly energize stressed skin
  • Vitamin C fusion brightens
  • Antioxidants help strengthen skin’s natural defense systems”

The story behind

Some of you will probably ask “You’re 18. Why did you pick up that one?”. I really don’t know. I actually went to Revlon counter and ask for a concealer and the lady recommended this concealer. By the way, I’m in the shade light/medium (002). I bought this way back in April 2010, last summer (I live in the Philippines).

Coverage

The coverage, I would say, is medium. Don’t put too much because if you would, it would be cakey. I have extremely dark under eyes and this stuff  brightens my under eye amazingly. Well, the dark circles were not really invisible but it can lightly be seen. It actually depends on the intensity of your dark circles. The concealer lasts all day. ALL DAY LONG.

Where can I use?

Under eye. I tried using it for my blemishes and other matters but it didn’t worked out so well. I can say through my experience that this concealer is intended for under eye dark circles.

Why is it amazing?

Because it lasts all day long and it has SPF 15! How cool is that? It  is age defying and has sun protection. And, it lasts for about a year. I used like almost everyday but I still have not ran out. I highly recommend this. :-)

How much is this and where can I find it?

I bought this at Duty Free Philippines for $14. I do not how much is this in the Philippine Peso. Sorry.  :-)

You can find these at Watsons, Marrionaud (Mall of Asia) and SM Deparment Stores.

Overall rating

;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

I am not being paid to review this product.  These are my own thoughts about this product.
